To a Wild Rose

To a Wild Rose

There is something simply gorgeous about roses - and what's not to love about the rose in To A Wild Rose stamp set? Three step stamping to complete this rose adds depth and makes it look so realistic. The sentiments are all truly beautiful, making it easy to have a reason to send a friend or loved one this card. Add to that all the possible rose color combinations with Stampin' Up coordinating cardstock colors, and this stamp set will be one to keep and be used numerous times.

I have a soft spot for coral pinks, so I started my card base with Thick Whisper White with Calypso Coral as the first layer of cardstock. Petal Pink blends so well with this color combination. I wanted a soft, light color in the foreground, so I embossed a piece of it with the Subtle Embossing Folder for the top layer on my card. Those same wonderful colors, with Flirty Flamingo added as the second layer, were all I needed to complete each of the roses. I then used Soft Sea Foam, Old Olive, and Mossy Meadow for the leaves. One set of leaves and roses is adhered flat to the Petal Pink Piece, and the other set is adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals to add depth to the card.

Included in the Wild Rose Dies is a nice sized stitched label shape that displays Blessed nicely.  To soften what I felt was the harshness of the white on what was otherwise a very softly muted card, I used a blending brush very lightly with a very small amount of Petal Pink ink.
