Light and Peace

Light & Peace

This angel inspired me to create a card that was simple, yet elegant. With cards and all the card making products getting more and more intricate, detailed, and time consuming to make, it was refreshing to make a card that brought me "back to the basics".

The card base uses Thick Whisper White. I matted the card using Gold Foil and then the top layer is Whisper White. First I generously covered the card panel front with Stampin' Up's Embossing Buddy so it was as static free as possible. I stamped the angel and greeting in Versa Mark and generously applied gold embossing powder over the area and heat embossed.

Next I masked an oval shape by die cutting an oval shape into the masking paper and then discarding the cut out piece and adhering the masked panel to the card front exposing only the oval portion.
I used So Saffron and a blender brush (there are many blender brushes on the market and many people use cosmetic blender brushes - I used a Life Changing Blender Brush by Picket Fence Studios) dabbing off first and then softly blending in the oval area. After covering the area well, trying to get it as smooth as possible, I lifted the mask from the front of card panel revealing a the angel surrounded by the yellow glow of light.

This card's techniques were basic, yet the results are so pretty. I enjoyed capturing my crafting moments today and I hope you will as well. Please reach out to me with any questions or comments.
