Blessing Mix Thanksgiving Treats - Birds of a Feather

Blessing Mix Thanksgiving Treats - Birds of a Feather

Thanksgiving and coming together with friends and family is such a wonderful holiday. I wanted to make something little and just for fun to give each of the people who come to our house for Thanksgiving and to give to my co-workers. Pinterest to the rescue! I found Blessing Mix is a popular item to give on this holiday and loved the idea. I found Jamielyn from ihearnaptime.net had produced a free printable Blessing Mix document with beautiful colors I knew would coordinate with my Stampin' Up products.

To decorate the Mason jar, I wanted a simple tag that could go with the Blessing Mix label. The turkey in Birds of a Feather is just adorable, and I knew that would be perfect. I stamped him in Memento ink onto Thick Whisper White cardstock so I could use Stampin' Blends without any smearing. I used Soft Suede to color the turkey, Pumpkin Pie for the apron, Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie for the feathers, Cajun Craze for the wattle (the hanging neck piece on a turkey - had to ask what that was!) Dark So Saffron for the pie, and Dark Smoky Slate and Light Basic Black for the hat and pie pan.

I punched the turkey out with the 2 1/4 inch circle punch, the mat in Mango Melody and scallop in Pumpkin Pie was die cut with Layering Circles Dies.

The Blessing Mix label was adhered to Cajun Craze cardstock and both were hung on the jar with Linen Thread. The Pumpkin Pie ribbon I used is unfortunately retired. I had so much of it remaining that it was a good fix to use on all these jars!
