Kindness and Compassion

Kindness and Compassion

We recently lost my father-in-law to a combination of old age, dialysis complications, and sadly a state of dementia that had set in. The outpouring of love and kindness to us has been incredible and such a source of comfort to us. I wanted to send hand-made cards to those who traveled significantly to be with us or who had provided dinners for us. His flowers at the funeral home were spectacular - fall colors which he loved and given his death at the end of October, were perfect. So I wanted my card to reflect that.

Stampin' Up's Kindness and Compassion is a fitting set for thanking the people in your life who helped you through a difficult time. I started with a card base of Soft Suede with the first layer in Crumb Cake.  I stamped leaves from Colorful Seasons in Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze, and Mango Melody on the Crumb Cake Piece.

I stamped the sympathy thank you message on Very Vanilla using Cajun Craze. The frame is from Heirloom Frames and Embossing Folders cut and embossed in Soft Suede.  I mounted the Very Vanilla piece inside the frame and adhered that to the base using Dimensionals for a raised effect.

I am grateful for the wonderful people in my life and taking the time to say thank you to them was definitely a great way to capture my moments today. I hope you capture your moments too.
