Snowman Season Holiday Treat

Snowman Season Holiday Treat

I love this time of year - making, baking, buying holiday treats for friends, co-workers, service people, and family. I live and work in a culturally diverse area and Stampin' Up's Snowman Season stamp set and coordinating Let It Snow Designer Series Paper allow me to create fun cards, tags, etc... that can be either Christmas or Holiday/Winter themed. As a teacher, I wanted to make a tag that was a wish specific to my co-workers yet was still a crafty tag complete with paper and stamping.

The base of the tag is 3x4 Real Red cardstock and I just snipped the corners to make it look more like a tag. Also using Real Red cardstock, I punched out a tag topper using the Delightful Tag Topper Punch and adhered it to the back of the 3x4 piece. I had so much retired Real Red ribbon that was thin and would fit through the hole at the top of the tag that I went ahead and used it, but there are many appropriate threads and ribbons you could use - so many of Stampin' Up's products coordinate with each other.

The Let It Snow Designer Series Paper has so many adorable and glittery papers it was hard to choose which one to use for the tag, but I ended up with one that would be subtle with the snowman on the tag.

Next I stamped the snowman from Snowman Season using Memento Ink so I could use my Stampin' Blends alcohol markers without smearing the ink. Light Pool Party was used around the outer part of the snowman's belly and the rest of the snow. The scarf and hat use Dark Pool Party and Real Red Stampin' Blends. I added a little color to his/her cheek with Light Flirty Flamingo. The nose is Pumpkin Pie. The tree I colored with Dark Bermuda Bay. Even though I made 30, it didn't take that much time to color. I punched the snowman out with the 2 1/4 inch circle punch.

I die cut the scalloped circle around the punched snowman using Layering Circles Dies with Real Red cardstock. I adhered the circle with the snowman to the scalloped circle and then adhered that to the tag leaving enough space for the message to my co-workers.

Over the years, as I've scrapbooked and made cards with Stampin' Up colors, I've saved Microsoft Word documents where I've changed the text color to come as close a match to their colors as possible. This saves me time. So when I needed Real Red text, I was able to pull up a document I had that had utilized that text color.

I had fun making these knowing my co-workers will enjoy them. Teachers love getting snacks, especially salty and chocolate-y ones and add to that coffee and hot cocoa and I know they'll be happy! I hope you capture many wonderful holiday moments this season! If you have any questions or comments, please reach out to me.
